My 2007 "1,000
Good Deeds" Tour
I have renamed this tour
my "Spreading Prosperity" Tour: Read about my $500,000
challenge below
If you've read my
journal from 2006 then you already know about my impending,
self-imposed "homelessness" and journey across the
US and Canada. As soon as I find a buyer for my condo, my one
remaining cat (Casper) and I will be living in a 5' x 9' cargo van, for at least a year, maybe
more. No kids, no partner for support or companionship, no home;
but no debt either.
Reprinted from my Tour Journal (Dec.
5, 2006)
My (1,000 Good Deeds Tour) was an experiment
which I promoted in multiple ways for many months. Sadly, there
appears to be no interest in my doing 1,000 Good Deeds
for others. I have received no requests from individuals,
charities or organizations who want to receive a good deed from
me for themselves or for others. I have received no requests
to speak to schools, colleges and universities, or prisons,
or businesses to speak about kindness and civility. I guess that
must be because everyone is content with how things are in their
lives and in the world (wink). But who am I to try to push my
interests on others?
And my essay
contest to give away a Handy Ande franchise to the person
who writes the best essay has been met with skepticism and ridicule.
I had only two entries. And my offer to provide 100 more franchises
with no up front fee (only $100 a month royalties) was also deemed
suspicious, that I must be running a scam. Ouch. Was I astonished
by the negative response to my honest offer to help people earn
a good income!
So I am still planning to tour the US
and Canada, but I won't be doing any charitable work... at least
not any that the public will know about.
I am renaming the tour my "Spreading
Prosperity" Tour. Rather than promoting good deeds I
am going to make it a working tour, spending my time on
the road earning an income by helping others earn a better
income:
MY CRAZY EXPERIMENT:
I am going to prove that one can generate $500,000 in earnings
in 2 years... starting from zero, with no home and no money.
I want to show
that anyone, even an older woman like me with no material
resources can build a lucrative empire in two years by being
resourceful and determined. I will be....
A new news release will appear here when
completed: http://www.AndreaReynolds.com/prosperitytour.html
I want to promote the concept of prosperity
to both specialists (advice empire) and low income individuals
(Handy Ande). I want to show that people can generate large incomes
and even beat poverty with resourcefulness, work for others,
kindness and consideration of others.
I also want to prove a few points along
the way:
1. That it costs nothing to be nice
to others.
2. That one doesn't have to have a spacious
home or condo to thrive.
3. That one can own little and
live quite well.
4. That people will help others
who are working hard to help themselves.
5. That not everything we do for others
requires payback.
6. That there is a psychic reward
when one is kind to others.
7. That everything starts with being
debt-free and earning more than you spend.
I'll be living simply and frugally, saving
on mortgage, condo fees, taxes, hydro, phone. I'll be an itinerant consultant, strategist,
columnist, money mentor, speaker, columnist, column marketer,
publisher, housesitter, etc., earning as I travel. I'll also
be promoting my Handy Ande personal concierge
business as a franchise.
My only expenses will be a van payment,
auto insurance, cell phone and web site hosting, plus gas and
food. I'll park at people's homes and, with permission and
payment, hook up to their electricity and Internet for a
night, and/or have a hot shower. My business plan says I should
be able to earn not only what I need to cover expenses, but about
$500,000 over 2 years. Maybe more... you can keep track through
my tour journal.
The van is primitively equipped with
sleeping bags, a desk, Sterno stove, computer, cat cage, and
commode. For outdoor living I have a 10 x 12 screened gazebo
(old), a tent, and fencing for the cats. Also a bicycle for backup
transportation. One day I'll be able to afford to put solar energy
power on the roof, and later, upgrade to a more comfortable vehicle.
I'm looking forward to this adventure.
I wish I could leave tomorrow. I don't have a start date; that
depends on when I can find a buyer for my condo. And I don't
have a destination, but I'm open to invitations to towns and
cities to visit. You can follow my progress in my online
tour journal. I'm working on a revised news
release.
What selfish motives do
I have?
1. To work with clients face-to-face.
I've been isolated for 10 years in my home-office.
2. To interview experts and consultants
across the continent for my column, next book.
3. To find friendly, warm places to visit
and settle (eventually).
4. To meet genuinely kind people.
5. To learn about other people's lives.
What would you like to do
to help me? Here are a few ways....
1. Find me a buyer for my 3
BR condo in St. Catharines Ontario, and receive a $500 finders
fee.
2. Purchase my
reports to help me finance this tour. Or anything else in
my store.
3. Offer me a housesitting
assignment or a place to park in your driveway and allow
me to hook up to your Internet and electricity for a night. I'll
pay you something.
4. Tell me the names of your local
newspaper and talk radio stations so I can send them my news
release and column in advance.
6. Invite
me to speak to your association, corporation, or university,
etc.
7. Advertise your company on my web pages.
8. Book me to present a lecture
or seminar in your city on advice empire building.
Tell
Andrea which seminar you would attend:
1. How to Attract More Speaking Engagements
2. How to Become a $30,000 an Hour Speaker
3. 150 Smart Ways Leading Authorities
Earn More Money than You Do
4. How to Package, Position and Promote
Your Passion as The Leading Authority
5. Build or Rebuild a One Person, Consulting/Advice
Empire
Respond
with your choice.

I've been looking forward to this adventure
for 25 years. I hope you'll follow my preparations and my journey
in my journal.
