Commission-Free Speakers was created to assist
new speakers in making the transition
from unpaid book signings and free speeches to paid
engagements; and to assist
experienced speakers in increasing the number
of invitations they receive both from speaker bureaus and speaker
agents, and meeting planners
willing to pay generous fees. Unable to afford costly
promotional campaigns to build a "platform" to become
the "celebrity drawing card" that meeting planners look
for, newer speakers need a "vehicle" to give them a
public presence. Commission-Free Speakers provides
visibility through group promotion to help speakers build
a platform (recognition and credibility by generating
press and media visibility as an authority).
We encourage meeting planners to contact speakers directly
through
their profile page (see example), and we encourage
speakers to negotiate their own fees and agreements
because there is no commission to pay us. If you prefer
to have us to handle a negotiation and engagement
confirmation for you there is no
fee; it's a benefit of membership for all speakers no
matter what their fee level. Or you can choose to
participate in a 7-day class on speaker contracts
(open to
non-members as well).
