Join the Network
The HandyAnde.com Network was created to help other
individuals promote their own service businesses and keep
all of the money they earn (except for taxes) as I have
done. When you
hire a
personal concierge on HandyAnde.com' Network you are hiring
someone who is motivated to do a good job and earn extra
income. Our personal concierges may be...
- Single moms who are sole/primary breadwinners,
- College and university students earning income for
tuition and books,
- Separated/divorced dads who suddenly have two homes to
pay for,
- Families who are working their way out of debt with extra
work,
- Victims of crime who are paying off huge legal bills,
- Workers who have been laid off from employment,
- Retirees who want to earn extra income to supplement
their small pensions,
- Retired military personnel who are having difficulty
finding full-time employment,
- Disabled individuals who are able to function in many
ways with a few limitations,
- Spouses of injured workers who need to pick up the slack
created by lost income.
- Spouses putting their partners through school, etc.
Personal concierges
are independent contractors (caregivers, home economists,
personal shoppers, pet sitters, dog walkers, etc.) who
promote their unique services through Handy Ande, residing
in communities across Canada and the United States (and perhaps other places in the
world).They don't work for
us and we don't take any
commissions from their services. Please contact them
directly.
Each concierge
has his/her own unique combinations of skills and
experience. It's possible that no one personal concierge
provides all the skills and
performs all the services you require. "Some is better than
none", and you may decide to "hire" several
personal
concierges at once.
How to make an appointment with a Handy Ande Personal
Concierge
Locate the personal
concierges listed on our network for your area on our
Handy Ande web site and study their profiles and
services menu. Not
all concierges perform all services. Some specialize in
one or a few tasks.
Before you call your local personal concierge make a
To Do List of all the things you
would like to have done for you. Telling your personal
concierge ahead will allow her to be prepared with the
right tools, ample time, and the proper clothes for the
tasks on your "wish list".
Call the personal concierges in your area and ask for an
estimate of those services. Concierges may have different
rates for different services.
Personal concierges can usually accept payment by PayPal,
cash, check, money order, debit card, credit card,
Traveler's Cheques.
Don't forget to ask if the personal concierge will
honor the Introductory Coupon. Personal
concierges who are
members of Handy Ande should be willing to honor
the introductory coupon for first-time clients.
Tipping
Tipping is not necessary or expected, but
always appreciated by the recipient. We don't mind if
personal concierges on Handy Ande accept tips. (We do hope
concierges will declare this income, but that's a
discussion for the forum.)
Handy Ande promotes high standards. We expect our personal
concierges to do exceptional work at all times; we don't
condone mediocrity. Tips are appropriate when a concierge
has done far more than was expected by the most demanding
client.
Tips do not have to be money. When I ran bed and breakfasts
- mine and the ones I managed for others - I received
monetary gifts and also non-monetary gifts: books, wine,
plants, flowers, gift certificates, restaurant vouchers. I
was delighted with all of them.
Use a little creativity and your personal concierge will be
a raving fan. But again, don't feel obligated to provide a
tip if the work is just so-so, and not exceptional.

PS Some low-income personal concierges will be interested
in the training we provide which leads to the
designation Endorsed Local Provider.
The program is currently
only $99, but for some this may be out of reach. With
your personal concierge's consent we can accept tips
toward the $99 tuition. In cases of extreme poverty and
a solid commitment from the provider, we may be able to
reimburse this tuition after completion of the
course when grants are
available.
Feel free to add your comment to this.

Our Handy Ande Endorsed
Local Providers (HAELPs) can call themselves that
only if they have
successfully passed the training we
provide.
If a personal
concierge has
earned that designation, it will be noted next to their name
on their profile. All other concierges
who are listed here are NOT endorsed by Handy
Ande. It would be
impossible to meet and observe every person who provides a service.
