Meet Andrea Reynolds
Despite a high IQ, Andrea
Reynolds was considered "least likely to succeed" by her
high school teachers and classmates... based only on her
mother's scandalous behavior in the small town where she
grew up. After leaving home and escaping the stifling,
small town mentality, Andrea found she loved learning,
attended 7 universities in 3 countries, and excelled in
difficult courses, graduating with a degree in both
marketing and family studies. She studied abroad at Oxford
University and did graduate level work at the Fashion
Institute in New York.
As the only woman in most of her university business
classes, she worked doubly hard to prove herself and earned
an "A" as the final grade - in "Marketing in the 21st
Century" - from a professor known for his refusal to give
"A"s for ten years. This was 1972, decades before most
people were considering what business would be like in the
year 2000. This professor, Donald F. Mulvihill, one of the founders
of the Marketing Management Association, was impressed
with Andrea's forward thinking. At her high school's
tenth year reunion she was declared "most dynamically
improved" by the Class President.
She went on to host and co-host talk radio in both the US
and Canada, host a television show, publish how-to books
for over 25 years, publish 6 newsletters, and write advice
columns. Published from the age of 15, Andrea invalidated
her high school English teacher's pronouncement that she
didn't have what it took to be published. As a marketing
strategist, she was hired by some of the most brilliant
experts and independent professionals in the world as well
as Fortune/Financial Post 100 corporations for her
marketing solutions and strategies.
Andrea has appeared as an occasional guest expert on CBC's
"Morningside" with the late Peter Gzowski, CFRB radio, on
"Dini", CityTv's "Breakfast Television", Global News at
Noon, CBC Evening News, and was interviewed by Sir David
Frost. She has been quoted in
Time,
Success,
USA Today,
Sales & Marketing Management,
Entrepreneur,
Globe and Mail,
Financial Post,
National Post,
Canadian Business,
Toronto Star, etc. She has been listed
in various "who's who" directories in Toronto and Canada.

She became her own first client in 1977 after attempting to
hire a Toronto public relations firm to gain exposure for
her (then) wardrobe consulting service. The agency wanted a
$3,000 fee to "take a few editors to lunch to talk about
her." Marketing degree in hand, Andrea knew she could do as
much for herself for far less money. As she became more
visible two author-management consultants asked her to
promote them and her expert-promotion practice was launched
in 1979.
