Andrea's Wish List
If you are feeling
generous and would like to contribute something to help
with living expenses as I work to generate income again -
now that I have fewer obstacles of the enormous kind in my
path - I'd be honored to accept what you can give. See
below.
My Angels | Blessings | Donations
I've been asked why I have
posted my own wish list here. Several reasons.
One:
With so little income because nobody wants to pay me, and
big debts for keeping everyone paid on time, there is no
money for essentials or extras. (Even though I have been
extremely frugal for decades.)
Two:
I will accept
payment for services in tangible things I've
listed here in lieu of money. For more payment ideas, see
my 8 ways to pay me.
Three:
I want to prove to anyone else who is destitute that
if you ask, you will receive. I certainly don't expect
the most expensive thing; but often when I ask, I get just
what I need and sometimes receive better than I
anticipated. Sometimes people have things you need that
they don't want and are happy to get rid of them... to you.
You just have to ask.
Thank you to those who have paid me in goods I needed in
the past. (See my blessings list and my list of
angels.)
Wishes
for my Business (INCOME)
- Full payment plus interest from people who retained my services and never paid me. This can be anonymous.
- 2000 early buyers for The Kindness Test. ($20 now saves them money on the book plus gives them a share of the profits later.) This investment allows me to live and write with some comfort during the hot summer and early winter.
- Speaking engagements in Canada and northern US (May - Sept); Southern US (Oct - April).
- Sponsors for a new newspaper advice column which I'd like to syndicate on how to be kinder to others.
- Sponsors for a weekly radio call-in advice show on kindness in business.
- National Writers Union membership renewal, $60 for 6 months, $120 for 12 months. Membership provides a press pass which allows me to access to events I can write about... and hopefully get paid.
- TracFone minutes (cards are available in many stores). I have a $10, pay-as-you go TracFone phone.
Personal Wishes
- Dental work. My mouth requires about $5,000 worth of restorative work- root canals, crowns, bridgework - not cosmetic.
- Skirts. I have plenty of pairs of summer pedal-pushers, but no skirts for appointments and interviews year round.
- Curves membership that can be used anywhere so I can get down to a healthy weight and improve my stamina.
- AARP membership to get health insurance.
- Invitations to housesit during owner and pet absences, so my cat and I don't have to sleep in the van during extreme heat or cold. When the weather is warm we prefer being inside the van as long as there is shade to park under on hot days. Like this...
This is an ideal parking spot that offers shade to keep
cool on hot days.
- Permission to park my van safely in shade in the driveway of your home - or in the street or parking lot of your business as above) - overnight, with an electrical hookup to my van (I carry a 100 foot outdoor utility extension cord. Plug me in and throw the cord out the window. I'll pay you for what I use.) The electricity can power either my heater or my 5,000 BTU air conditioner. (In sun, the interior of my van becomes so hot - 100 degrees - that Casper suffers from heat exhaustion within ten minutes.)
- Provide a private hot shower so I can feel refreshed. If not, I now have a solar camping shower and shower curtain on board to hang somewhere private.
- Share a meal with me - It would be nice to have some company and conversation. I can cook.
- Re-freeze my ice packs at night to keep my food chilled in my cooler.
- Allow me to connect to your outside electrical outlet to recharge my power box, cell phone and laptop batteries.
- Allow me to dump grey water in an appropriate place.
- Allow me to replenish clean water for drinking and washing.

- Canned Friskies cat food. He currently likes the mixed grill, liver, beef chicken, and turkey and giblets. Only "pate", not chunks or shreds. He goes through 30-36 cans a month in addition to Wiskas dry food. It's all he will eat.
- Feline pine cat box litter.
- Cosmic Catnip and Pounce treats
- HINT: a WalMart gift card would allow all of the above.
Wishes for my Van
- Back up camera for the passenger side rear blind spot.
- AAA membership renewal for peace of mind in case I have another flat tire or lock my keys inside.
- A roof vent installed to draw out some of the heat inside the van.
- An RV ladder so I can access the roof rack to put a tarp on it for shade when I need to get groceries and leave Casper inside the van.
- A bike rack for the front of my van so I can use my bike to save on gas.
