Radio Advice Show: Crisis Clinic
I
don't have one right now, but would love to have my own
call-in radio show again. Here's the premise, if any
program directors happen onto this page:
Concept: Creative but
smart solutions to heavy duty, industrial-strength personal
crises.
Topics:
Intimidation, theft, mistreatment by corporate bullies or
professionals, abusive relationships, financial
devastation, homelessness, stalking and death threats,
swindlers, date rape, marital rape, etc. An example of a
recent submission from a local resident:
"I am a
Widow and lost everything in a fire...You
are the first one that has offered any type of help at
all."
Subscribe:
Read my case blog and receive my weekly
newsletter, Crisis Clinic.
Format:
1-2 hours, call-in show, with occasional guest expert
interviews (authors).
Competition:
Your station does not offer your community a personal
advice show, so this will fill a need.
Credentials:
While not a licensed psychologist or therapist, I come at
problems from the position of an investigative journalist,
family studies and life educator, author of self-help
books, guest expert on radio and television, former
freelance radio broadcaster.
Purpose:
The local individuals who most need my support can't afford
to hire me and necessarily must go without support or
answers. A radio show will reach them and allow them to
call in, without cost to get what they need.
Time:
Once or twice a week, Sat. or
Sunday. Afternoon or evening.
Pilot:
Am willing to fill in when feed from a syndicated show is
down.
Trial:
Invite me, occasionally, to cover a specfiic social or
personal crisis topic in a 5-10 minute segment, on one of
the local shows.
